Purim 2010: Yabba Dabba Do!

Dressed up as our favorite cartoon and comic book characters, we loved our Purim celebrations!  The Megillah reading, followed by an ice cream and coffee bar social in the "Jetson Lounge" (often called Social Hall 1) topped off the night.  Purim morning included an early Shacharit service, Torah and Megillah readings, and the school's pancake breakfast.  Then the student's got to hear a (short) Megillah reading, sing, and have fun with a magician's show.

Purim began, as always, with the Mishloach Manot Gang: those wonderful volunteers who packed and delivered mishloach manot for our annual fundraiser.  Know the best way to get this annual treat? Send some to an OT friend next year.  Make sure to select the reciprocity option!

Erev Purim brought out the wild and wonderful to our Megillah reading!  See how many of these comic characters you can recognize. Age clearly didn't limit the fun we had!  Crafts kept many of us entertained, and older revelers found their own fun, too.  A special treat this year were our "double-duty" groggers:  Boxes of Mac 'n' Cheese made a wonderful sound to drown out THAT NAME, and then were donated to a local food pantry.

After the Megillah reading, we moved on to our ice cream and coffee bar social.  Make-your-own sundaes made everyone happy, and games such as foosball gave us a reason to hang out with friends a little longer.

We just continued having fun on Sunday morning, starting with the Religious School's pancake breakfast, courtesy of lot of great helpers!

A few sticky fingers later, we got our groggers and listened to Morah Nechama and Rabbi Kalender read the Megillah.  Then it was off to see the magician before our wonderful Purim celebration ended.
