Donations

We appreciate your generosity. Donations are a traditional way to commemorate a simcha or to honor the memory of a loved one.  Your contribution will help us serve the needs of the Olam Tikvah community. All  donations will be acknowledged in the Contemporary and other reports, unless you request anonymity.

Make your donation any of three ways:

Email: (OT members only) Send your donation instructions to Melissa Benson and we will bill your synagogue account. Please include in your e-mail:

  • Your full name, address, and account number (if available),

  • The amount of the donation and the name of the fund to which it should be contributed.

  • Whether the donation is in honor of, in memory of, or for the speedy recovery of an individual, and the name of the honoree or occasion, and

  • The name and complete mailing address for sending acknowledgment cards. A card will be sent to you only if you request it.

Mail: Print the Donation Form (PDF) and mail it with your check, payable to Congregation Olam Tikvah.

Online ($10 minimum for online donations please):

  1. Select the Donate button next to the chosen fund below and follow the PayPal instructions. This will allow you to pay with your credit card or PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account to pay by credit card. 

  2. Use the Comment box on the final payment page to indicate whether the donation is in honor of, in memory of, or for the speedy recovery of an individual. Please give the name of the honoree and occasion, and provide the name and complete mailing address for sending acknowledgment cards.

  3. A duplicate acknowledgment card will be sent to you only if you request it.

Fund Descriptions

Annual Campaign: Provides for the general financial needs of the synagogue.

Tzedakah Fund: Provides for the synagogue and its members.

Capital Improvement: Provides for major, unbudgeted repairs and improvements to the physical facilities.

Caren Pearl Memorial Family Life Education: Supports Jewish family education programs of the Religious School.

Carol Samuels Memorial Youth: Provides need-based scholarships for Jewish camping and travel (excluding travel to Israel).

Chorale: Provides for the expenses of the OT Chorale.

Comfort and Condolence: Provides a fruit basket or meal to the family after a funeral or during an extended illness.

Dorothy Edison and Alexander Levin Library Fund: Provides for a wide variety of materials to be used in the beit midrash (library).

Emanuel Passamaneck Prayer Book and Tallit Fund: Provides prayer books, chumashim and talitot.

Fine Arts: Supports projects that beautify and enhance Olam Tikvah.

Gerald Brissman/Lyle Miller College Outreach Fund: Provides holiday packages and mailings to the congregation’s college students living away from home and subsidies for Koach.

Harold Rib Torah and Religious Articles Fund: Maintains and acquires Torahs and other religious articles for the sanctuary.

Israel Quest Fund: Provides funds to OT youth for travel to Israel.

Jerry Werbel Landscape Fund: Provides assistance for beautification of the synagogue grounds.

Kitchen Fund: Purchases kitchen equipment.

Rabbi Itzhaq M. Klirs Memorial Adult Education Fund: Provides for an annual scholar-in-residence and sponsors adult education programs; contributions to benefit the Chorale may be designated through this fund.

Rabbi's Discretionary Fund - Senior Rabbi: Enables the Senior Rabbi to support a wide variety of charitable, educational and growth opportunities in the community.

Rabbi's Discretionary Fund - Assistant Rabbi: Enables the Assistant/Associate Rabbi to support a wide variety of charitable, educational and growth opportunities in the community.

Robert Natkin Religious School Fund: Provides for the purchases that benefit the Religious School and for educational programs for teachers and students.

Social Action: Supports social action and tikkun olam programming at Olam Tikvah and within the greater community.

Walter Hausfeld Memorial Playground Fund: Provides maintenance and upkeep of the playground.

 

Endowment Fund

A source of long-term funding for the congregation's growth, our Endowment Fund is carefully invested so that Olam Tikvah will have a ready source of reserves for the future. For more information, contact Ken Cohn.
