OT's membership committee welcomes you to Olam
Tikvah. |
Over the past 40 years, Congregation Olam Tikvah has
evolved into a vibrant community of over 670 families who consider the
synagogue their second home.
Olam Tikvah services are traditional and egalitarian, led
by lay members. Children are always welcome, and young members are
encouraged to participate in services and lead appropriate parts. We
offer Shabbat morning babysitting and children’s services. Twice a month
we end Shabbat with a Mincha/Havdalah service, song and a light meal. OT
celebrates holidays with services and special programs.
We invite you to come and join us for services, come to a
Sisterhood, Men's Club or Young Professionals event, or ask about what our
younger members are doing. Find out about all
the activities and learning possibilities that await you.
New Member Wine & Cheese. The Membership Committee
invited new OT members to a lovely and fun January event.
Please contact your mentor, the OT office, or Brittanie Werbel at
otmembership@hotmail.com if you
were unable to attend but would like to participate in future membership
activities. Current OT
members, if you know someone interested in OT, we would like to welcome them to
our community. Please contact Brittanie or another member of the Membership
Committee with their name, phone, and email address.
If you are interested in joining Olam Tikvah or want more
information, please contact
Rachelle Palley. She and
the Membership committee representatives will be happy to answer your
questions.
To find out about
coming events, subscribe to the
listserv. Provide your first and last name in
the body of the email.
Welcome!

Welcome! Whether
you are “shul shopping” and considering Olam Tikvah, have recently
joined or have been at OT for years and years, we are happy to have you
here! As in previous years, the Membership Committee will be sponsoring
several programs for new and prospective members of Olam Tikvah. Your
mentor will contact you with details about New Member Shabbat and a New
Member Brunch, coming up in the next month or two. Each of these
mornings offers a nice chance to meet other new members, as well as
“veteran” members of Olam Tikvah, the Board, and the Membership
Committee.
If you’ve
attended Shabbat morning services in the past several months, you may
have noticed Membership Committee members greeting worshippers in
the lobby. All of us on the Membership Committee enjoy taking turns as
greeters. It’s a chance to say hello and Shabbat Shalom to current, new
and prospective members, as well as to any guests worshipping with us. For
those keeping track at home, the most-often-asked question does not
concern the upcoming renovation, or even the location of the restrooms;
everyone wants to know “where can I find a talit?” If
you know the answer to this question (or even if you don’t—we’ll teach
you!) and are interested in greeting one Shabbat morning, or in
participating in any other Membership programs, please e-mail me at
otmembership@hotmail.com.
