Fun 'N Nosh
Fun 'N Nosh
The preschool day begins at 9:00am and ends at 12:00pm. You can extend your child's day at OTPS through our Fun 'N Nosh program.
The Nosh
All preschoolers can extend their day and eat lunch (which you provide - dairy or pareve only, please) with their friends. If you did not sign your child up for lunch on the Enrollment Agreement, you may register for the month in advance on the monthly Fun 'N Nosh form or your child may stay on a "drop-in" basis.
Time: Lunch is from 12:00-12:55pm
Cost: $7 per day (discount offered for advance registration).
The program begins in September on the first day of school. Lunch is generally is available all five days of the week, except on select days, such as the eve of a holiday. We encourage parents to register in advance, as part of the Enrollment Agreement. If your child will stay for lunch occasionally, or on a drop-in basis, you must submit payment that day and a parent or care provider needs to inform your child's teacher at drop-off that morning.
On Wednesdays, you may order a slice of kosher pizza, fruit, a drink, and dessert for your child for an additional $4 a week. Please note: you must order pizza in advance; it is not available on a drop in basis.
The Fun
After lunch, OTPS offers a variety of enrichment classes. In order to participate, children must be at least 3 years old and toilet independent. Examples of classes offered in the past include A Star is Born, Tot Soccer, Chefs of the Future and Basketball.
Time: 1:00-1:45pm
Cost: $8 per day; $10 drop-in basis per day (based on availability)
Offered: Classes will begin in October and are offered two or more days per week, based upon enrollment. Classes change each month.
Enrollment: Monthly registration forms are sent via e-mail and are also available on the preschool bulletin board. Complete and send in your registration form and payment by the due date, which is usually the 21st of the prior month. With prior permission from the Director and provided a class is not full, your child may also attend class on a drop in basis. You must submit payment that day.
We are always looking for new class ideas and teachers. If you have any suggestions, comments, or questions, please contact, Samantha Dashevsky, or call (703)425-1886.

Greek philosophy has strongly influenced our understanding of the concepts of “body” and “soul,” suggesting they are two separate entities. But what do Jewish texts say about what ultimately makes us human? What are Jewish attitudes towards our physical beings, and what does our tradition think of the “soul,” assuming it even exists? -
