Gather each Wednesday morning to discuss the first Jewish law code. Join this lively group as we consider this core text for Jewish ethics, ritual, and theology. No prior knowledge necessary and the English translation is provided. In 5784/2023-24 we will continue studying Pirkei Avot (The Ethics of Our Ancestors), beginning with Chapter 3. The “Minor Prophets” weren’t of minor importance – it’s merely a description of the length of the books. These 12 prophets raise serious timeless questions about the world, human interactions and especially, the Jewish people’s relationship with God. What does God demand/request of us and what happens when we succeed or fail? These prophets, in books ranging from 1 to 14 short chapters, offer a remarkable diversity of opinions in a variety of Jewish societies and these profound books speak powerfully to us today.

Connect with other Jewish families at this free, informal gathering of children ages 0-3 with a caregiver, as we play and dance. Open to the entire community, facilitated by the Olam Tikvah Preschool.

Shabbat mornings offer a wealth of worship and learning opportunities for all ages. We hold one congregational service, beginning at 9:30am. Men and women of all ages - from age 13 through grandparents - lead portions of the service, receive aliyot, and read Torah. It's not unusual for younger children, below b'nei mitzvah age, to lead the chanting of specific prayers. Youth childcare and services begin in our youth wing at 10:00am for ages 18 months-6th grade. The congregation always enjoys lunch together following the service.

Shabbat morning is made up of three services: Shacharit, Torah, and Musaf. Come on Shabbat morning to explore the meaning and choreography of Shacharit. This class will meet in the library and then return to the sanctuary to apply our new skills.

Saturdays beginning at 10:00am, children ages 18 months-6th grade may be dropped off in the youth wing for childcare, followed by youth services. Details at https://www.olamtikvah.org/services#youth-shabbat
