Sunday morning Shacharit

Volunteer to beautify the grounds of Olam Tikvah's parsonage. We will cut invasive vines off of trees along the edge of the yard. Some of the vines are quite thick. We will also pull invasive weeds from the ground or dig them out if the roots are long. We will be working on the right-hand edge of the property in three designated areas.

Greek philosophy has strongly influenced our understanding of the concepts of “body” and “soul,” suggesting they are two separate entities. But what do Jewish texts say about what ultimately makes us human? What are Jewish attitudes towards our physical beings, and what does our tradition think of the “soul,” assuming it even exists?

Connect with other Jewish families at this free, informal gathering of children ages 0-3 with a caregiver, as we play and dance. Open to the entire community, facilitated by the Olam Tikvah Preschool.

Study this rabbinic conversation across the ages with Rabbi Bedo Fridays at 10:00am in the library. New students welcome at any time during the year. No prior knowledge necessary. English translations provided. Email vbedo@olamtikvah.org to be added to the class list.

Shabbat mornings offer a wealth of worship and learning opportunities for all ages. We hold one congregational service, beginning at 9:30am. Men and women of all ages - from age 13 through grandparents - lead portions of the service, receive aliyot, and read Torah. It's not unusual for younger children, below b'nei mitzvah age, to lead the chanting of specific prayers. Youth childcare and services begin in our youth wing at 10:00am for ages 18 months-6th grade. The congregation always enjoys lunch together following the service.

Saturdays beginning at 10:00am, children ages 18 months-6th grade may be dropped off in the youth wing for childcare, followed by youth services. Details at https://www.olamtikvah.org/services#youth-shabbat

Start the magic early with Yachad! Young Professionals are invited in costume to pre-game the evening in the Olam Tikvah Social Hall before the party gets started upstairs.

Abracadabra! Purim is as easy as pulling a rabbit from a hat at Olam Tikvah’s Magical Purim! Presto change-o into your magical costume to hear the Megillah, get a photo at the photo booth, and head to the youth corner for crafts or try an adult concoction made by our potion-masters.
