Sunday, June 12, 2022 • 13 Sivan 5782
9:45 AM - 12:00 PMSocial HallOlam Tikvah Congregants are invited to Olam Tikvah's Annual Membership Meeting. This year we will be back in-person for the meeting with breakfast served. If you are not comfortable gathering here at Olam Tikvah, we will offer an option to watch the meeting and vote via Zoom. Please RSVP below (we want to make sure we will have enough food). For those attending in-person, we will begin to serve breakfast immediately following the morning minyan, around 9:45am. For those attending via Zoom, we anticipate the meeting business will begin around 10:15am in order to give people time to get breakfast and find a seat. We will open the Zoom at 10:00am.
The agenda for the Annual Membership Meeting will include:
- Reflections on 2021-2022
- Presentation of the Fiscal Year 2023 Budget

The Fast of the Firstborn (Ta’anit Bechorim) commemorates the horrific tenth plague that God inflicted on Pharaoh and the Egyptian people. In recognition of this moment, firstborn Jews fast on Erev Pesach. As this is a minor fast, there is a widely practiced exemption: Judaism allows anyone who attends a religious feast to forego fasting. It is customary to hold a celebratory meal on the completion of study of a piece of text, called a siyyum (conclusion). Whether you are a firstborn relieving yourself from the pre-Pesach fast, or anyone else simply looking to learn a little, come join us for the siyyum. After the siyyum, we will celebrate with a light breakfast. -
