8:30 PM - 9:00 PMSanctuaryGetting Dirt on Your Hands: What do the rabbis have to say about our place in the environment?
Since we kicked off our Green Initiative on Tu B'Shevat, our volunteers have been working hard to determine ways we can improve sustainability at OT. Join us on Wednesday for an educational session with Rabbi Josh Ackerman to learn more about Judaism and environmentalism. Come to minyan at 8:00pm and stay for the class.
Rabbi Joshua Ackerman currently works as a hospice chaplain with Jewish Social Service Agency in Montgomery County. His interest in integrating environmental study and ethics with Judaism began during his undergraduate studies in Conservation Ecology at Rutgers University. He still finds time to get lost in the woods, which he assures his daughter was totally and completely on purpose.
