12:00 PM - 1:00 PMPozez JCCJoin our community at the Pozez JCC to hear from October 7 survivors who are ready to share their stories.
October 7 has impacted many of us personally. For Daniel Weiss, Orin Bokobza, Sharon Ana Yakobi, and Bar Vilker, it was unimaginable. These Heroines and Heroes, stood in the face of evil and fought through the impossible reality of the massacre and war. They will unpack the complexity of life in Israel today and the importance of Israel to the Jewish people.
To ensure the opportunity for the community to hear their stories of bravery and courage, two programs have been planned for Wednesday, December 13. You may choose to attend either or both programs.

Heroines & Heroes of Light
Daniel Weiss is a gifted folk singer and songwriter from Kibbutz Be’eri. On October 7, he and his girlfriend, Orin Bokobza (who is also coming as part of this delegation) were hiding in their safe room in Be’eri. Later that day, he learned that his father, Shmulik, was murdered and his mom was kidnapped to Gaza. On November 15, his mother Yehudit, was found dead outside of Shifa hospital in Gaza by IDF soldiers.
Sharon Ana Yakobi is a teacher from Sderot. She will share her personal story and the story of the city of Sderot on October 7.
Bar Vilker grew up in Los Angeles, having both English and Hebrew as native languages. On October 7, he was at the Nova party and survived the attack. He will share his own story and the memories of the friend he lost that day.
