Interfaith Picnic for Afghan Refugee Families
Sunday, August 13, 2023 • 26 Av 5783
12:00 PM - 4:00 PMLaurel Hill Green Park, Shelter B, LortonIn August 2022, Interfaith Communities for Dialogue (ICD) and Neighbor2Neighbor held a picnic for select Afghan refugee families with school-age children. Each child received a backpack stuffed with the designated school supplies requested by their teachers. All attendees enjoyed the picnic food, games, and social interaction. This activity was so successful, it is being done again. It takes many hands to plan and execute this event but all who participate are repaid in joy and the satisfaction of helping others. Volunteers are needed to setup and cleanup the picnic, organize games/activities, collect/purchase/assemble school supplies and purchase/prepare food.
To volunteer, email Judith Shamir to let her know which task(s) you can help with.
