POSTPONED Kabbalat Siddur
Saturday, March 28, 2020 • 3 Nisan 5780
9:30 AM - 12:00 PMSanctuaryJoin us during this Shabbat service to honor our third grade students with a family ceremony called Kabbalat Siddur. During this special ceremony, each OTRS third grade student receives his or her own copy of Sim Shalom, the siddur (prayer book) we use at Olam Tikvah. This is the prayer book they will use throughout their time at Olam Tikvah and into their adult Jewish lives. Family participation and the presence of the entire community make the ceremony a significant and memorable occasion.
For those students in our religious school, this siddur will become an important part of their prayer study throughout their years in our classrooms, in addition to the times they will use it on Shabbat mornings. That transition from textbook to siddur marks an important milestone in their experience as Jewish learners.
This Shabbat will be followed by our annual Spring Training Kiddush, so come dressed in your favorite baseball team's jersey to celebrate the start of baseball season! Click here to learn more about the Spring Training Kiddush.
