Former Hungarian ambassador to the United States, Andras Simonyi, will talk about his book, Rocking Toward a Free World: When the Stratocaster Beat the Kalashnikov. The Ambassador’s father was Jewish and a Holocaust survivor. Andras’ really grew up playing rock music in post 1956 Hungary. He was in different bands growing up and into his adult years, including a band Coalition of the Willing, that still occasionally plays these days, which includes other members of the diplomatic community. He is currently a senior advisor with the Atlantic Council.
