All OT families are invited to celebrate Purim in your pajamas at the OTRS Pre-Purim Carnival. Our OTUSY teens will be manning the booths for a morning filled with games and prizes. If you're an 8th-12th grader interested in helping run the carnival, email Rafi Glazer.

Pre-Purim Carnival FAQ

Let's start with the Pre-Purim Pajama Carnival! When is it?
Great question! Our carnival is THIS Sunday, March 5, from 10am-12pm in the Social Hall.

Wait, so does that mean that there isn't OTRS that Sunday?
Yes, that's EXACTLY what that means! There are no OTRS classes the morning of the carnival. Instead, families come to OT at 10am, in their pajamas, and enjoy all of the fun our USYers have in store for them. So enjoy that extra hour of sleep!

I noticed you said "families." Does that mean I come with my child?
Yes, it does. Our teachers and teens will be busy running the program and won't be available to supervise students. So children must be accompanied by an adult to participate, they cannot be dropped off for the morning on their own.

So what can we expect from the carnival?
Our carnival is all about games, crafts, and activities that ensure everyone is a winner! There is no cost to participate and kids can play as much as they want (and win prizes all morning long). Because our games are set up for success, they can feel a little easy for kids in 5th-7th grade, but don't worry, we've got them covered with an inflatable obstacle course, crafts, and some brain-bending puzzles to solve. 

What if my 8th-12th grader wants to help out with the carnival but they haven't been active with USY before? Can they still join in?
Absolutely! If your teen wants to join in, regardless of whether or not they are active in USY, just send an email to our USY advisor, Rafi Glazer. We'll have something special for our volunteers at the end of the carnival, so plan on them staying about 30-45 minutes later that day.
