Shabbat Morning D'var Torah, Saturday, February 10

9:30am Shabbat Service & D'var Torah: "Genesis One vs. Genesis Two"

The Torah begins with two radically divergent views of creation and two radically divergent views of humanity. What do these stories tell us about who we are and the relationship that exists between humanity and nature?

Shabbat Afternoon Post-Lunch Discussion, Saturday, February 10

Post-Lunch Discussion: "Holy Sparks are All Around Us"

Jews across the ages saw nature as a way we connect with God and God connects with us. We will read their writings, showing how they celebrated nature as a way to elevate their souls and bring God closer, all the while minding the boundary between God-in-nature and God-as-nature.
