Shabbat Service and Torah Mantle Dedication

Saturday, February 3, 2024 24 Shevat 5784

9:30 AM - 12:00 PMSanctuary & Livestream

Shabbat mornings offer a wealth of worship and learning opportunities for all ages. We hold one congregational service, beginning at 9:30am. Men and women of all ages - from age 13 through grandparents - lead portions of the service, receive aliyot, and read Torah. It's not unusual for younger children, below b'nei mitzvah age, to lead the chanting of specific prayers. Youth childcare and services begin in our youth wing at 10:00am for ages 18 months-6th grade. The congregation always enjoys lunch together following the service.

Olam Tikvah is eager to welcome a new Assistant Rabbi into our kehillah to help teach, lead, learn from, engage with, and counsel our community. Join us February 2-3 to meet Rabbi Yael Aranoff, who will be here for the weekend. Learn more about the Rabbi Search process at olamtikvah.org/rabbisearch.

And don't miss the debut this week of our new Torah covers! We commissioned beautiful, custom-made covers for our Sifrei Torah and you can see them when we open the ark on Shabbat, February 3. Please contact Michelle Pearlstein if you are interested in learning about opportunities to dedicate a Torah cover.

Learn more about the artist of our new Torah covers, Jeanette Kuvin Oren. She is featured in this documentary about Judaic Art. Skip 14 minutes into the video to watch her story.
