Sisterhood Painting Class

Sunday, October 6, 2019 7 Tishrei 5780

2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Put on your comfy clothes and join us for a painting class led by local artist and OT congregant,  Ilisa Calderon. Ilisa’s speciality is portraiture, but she also delves into the areas of landscapes, pet portraits, and Judaica. Her medium has included oil, acrylic, watercolor, graphite and even tissue paper.

From Ilisa’s website, virginiaportraitartist.com: “As an artist what inspires me to create is a fascination for light, shadow, color and the intermingling of the aforementioned to create form and mood. Above all else what drives me to create is emotion.”

In this class we will be doing a still-life painting, using acrylic paint. Just in time for Sukkot, we will do a composition of the Lulav and Etrog, which you will be proud to hang in your sukkah! Additionally, we will study a liturgical verse having to do with the holiday of Sukkot, presented by Sisterhood Education Co-Vice President, Iren Fertel.

Nominal $10 registration fee will help to cover the cost of supplies. No artistic background is necessary. Minimum class size of 8. Register by Thursday, September 26.
