Talking about the Holocaust Today

Our speaker, Susan Webber, is the youngest daughter of Holocaust Survivor, Ruth Muschkies Webber.

Susan will share the moving story of how her mother Ruth and grandmother survived multiple ghettos and concentration camps. Ruth found the strength to not only survive and emigrate first to Canada, then to the U.S., but to thrive through her marriage, creating a Jewish home, and growing a loving family.

Susan is a critical link in this story, continuing her mother’s work with schoolchildren across the US.  In a time where we hesitate to tell others that we are Jewish, there are guards outside our synagogues, what is it like to talk about the Holocaust?  Susan will also explore our reality as well as some words of wisdom from her family’s experiences.

Social Action

Sisterhood is requesting donations of queen-sized and twin-sized sheet sets and bath/hand/washcloth towel sets to be donated to the Katherine Hanley Shelter. New linens only. The shelter is currently overcrowded and running out of basic necessities for the residence. The residents are able to take these items with them when they transition from the shelter into more permanent housing.

Monetary donations are also welcome. Please write a check to OT Sisterhood and write “KHS linens”in the memo line and drop it off at the office. We will be happy to purchase items on your behalf. As always, thank you so much for your generosity and compassion during this difficult time for members of our community.

Please note that a 2.5% surcharge will be added to all credit card transactions. To bill to your account and pay by check (no surcharge), you must log in first. Make checks payable to OT Sisterhood with "dinner" in the memo.
