Toy Drive for CHO

All Day for 34 DaysMain LobbyDonate by December 5 to Community for Helping Others (CHO)
Donating to Community for Helping Others (CHO) "Toy Store" is a wonderful opportunity to provide toys and gift certificates to a large number of local children who otherwise might not receive anything for the holidays, including children who are recent immigrants and the working poor.
How to participate:
- Place NEW UNWRAPPED toys in the main lobby donation bench
- Bring $25 gift cards (Walmart, Target) to the OT office
CHO's approach is to collect new, unwrapped toys and deliver them to the First Presbyterian Church in Vienna at the beginning of December. CHO divides the toys by age and sets them out on tables in a large room. The parents who are referred to CHO by Virginia Social Services receive a toy voucher for each of their children. The parents are given a day and time to visit the 'toy store." Upon arrival they exchange the voucher for whichever toy (or gift card) they consider appropriate for their child. The parents then take the toys home, wrap them, and gift them to their children on whatever holiday they celebrate!
