Kol Nidre Appeal 5785

As the yamim noraim (High Holidays) approach we reflect upon the past year, we appreciate the blessings we currently enjoy, and we anticipate future sweetness and success in 5785. This year Olam Tikvah will celebrate the theme l'dor v'dor, (from generation to generation).  For 61 years the deep involvement of our families has enabled Olam Tikvah to excel in programming, activities, and worship. We are grateful to those who built and sustained OT over the last 61 years, and we take pride in our thriving community. Past generosity has empowered our members to grow our community in new ways both exciting AND within the framework of Conservative Judaism.

Now is the time for our newer families to join our more experienced families so we can all sustain Olam Tikvah together. Financially supporting Olam Tikvah - through the Kol Nidre Appeal (KNA) and throughout the year - provides funding well beyond paying for our operations. In a typical year, our dues and tuition cover a bit more than 70% of our operating budget.  Congregational hope and generosity provide 30% of our resources. Most importantly, your generosity helps ensure the availability of opportunities cores to our values for our members. Olam Tikvah's continued strength relies on our willingness to invest in hope for the future.  L'dor v' d'or!

Here is how KNA works at Olam Tikvah. Everyone receives this letter by mail. If you regularly receive email from OT, you will receive an email that links to this letter. That email will also include an opportunity to make your donation online. You can participate by donating through the provided link in the email, contacting the office, or by mailing in a check. Over the next 2 months, members of the Board of Directors will reach out to every household with a Shana Tova greeting.  If you prefer to make your gift during this call, feel free to do so.

The High Holy Days are a special time of year, a time to strengthen and renew our bonds as a community so our lives remain filled with Jewish meaning.

Please consider making a meaningful gift at this time of year. Whether you can give $54, $10,054, or somewhere in between, we hope you feel a renewed sense of satisfaction as you feel a renewed sense of satisfaction as your donation embodies l'dor v' dor.  Participation in KNA combines respect for previous generations, continuation of our special culture of Jewish connectivity and empowerment, and investment in our future.

On behalf of Olam TIkvah's Board of Directors and of my own family, I wish you shana tova umetukah, a good and sweet 5785!

Brittanie Werbel
OT President
