Sunday morning Shacharit

We're reorganizing the Beit Midrash and making space on the shelves for a refreshed library collection. Come this Sunday from 9:00am-12:00pm in the Mosaic Lobby outside the gift shop, to browse our book fair and take some of your favorite library books home to keep. There is something for everyone - fiction, religion, history, art, cookbooks, and more.

Each Sunday at 12:30pm, from May-October, a group of volunteer gleaners from Olam Tikvah meets at the West End Farmers’ Market at Cameron Station (4800 Brenman Park Dr, in Alexandria) to pack up fresh produce and deliver it to residents of local shelters. It's impossible to know exactly how many thousands of pounds of food we deliver each year to people who don’t often have access to fresh fruits and vegetables, but it is a lot. It's hard to think of a more important mitzvah than providing food to people who are without. Gleaners usually commit to gleaning once or twice a month. Please consider volunteering for this rewarding mitzvah. If you want to become a gleaner or learn more, contact Marc Berman at breitmarc@yahoo.com.

Our Shabbat service is open to everyone. Come in-person or join us via livestream!

Shabbat mornings offer a wealth of worship and learning opportunities for all ages. We hold one congregational service, beginning at 9:30am. Men and women of all ages - from age 13 through grandparents - lead portions of the service, receive aliyot, and read Torah. It's not unusual for younger children, below b'nei mitzvah age, to lead the chanting of specific prayers. Youth childcare and services begin in our youth wing at 10:00am for ages 18 months-6th grade. The congregation always enjoys lunch together following the service.

Saturdays beginning at 10:00am, children ages 18 months-6th grade may be dropped off in the youth wing for childcare, followed by youth services. Details at https://www.olamtikvah.org/services#youth-shabbat
