Getting Ready for the High Holidays

7:30 PM - 9:30 PMKol Nidre – Simultaneously Well-Known & Mysterious
The first service of Yom Kippur, Kol Nidre, takes its name from the unique prayer that is recited three times as the sun goes down. The music resonates through our bodies and memories, but we don’t often focus on the intense and somewhat perplexing words of the prayer. Together with Rabbi Kalender, we’ll consider this profoundly meaningful part of our liturgy and its history in anticipation of the High Holidays.
Please RSVP to Erin Dreyfuss at edreyfuss@olamtikvah.org or (703) 425-1880.
This class is the first in a two-part series. Feel free to join Rabbi Ravski on Wednesday, September 25 for an in-depth study of Unetaneh Tokef in the Rosh Hashanah liturgy.
Sorry, Registration has ended.
