This month, we welcome Sharon Raphael, to discuss Jewish college life. Sharon will speak about the value of Jewish Greek life on college campuses and her take on what students antisemitism on college campuses today.

About Sharon Raphael

Sharon serves as the National President of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority (AEPhi). She was elected in 2019 after serving on the Council since 2011. She is passionate about preserving the sorority experience for women at colleges and universities across America and in Canada. AEPhi is a Jewish Sorority and therefore Sharon is dedicated to the Jewish values that she holds dear. She is passionate about fighting antisemitism and giving college women as safe space to be proud of their identity and our heritage.

In her professional life, Sharon works for Arlington County in Economic Development (AED) and has recently shifted her focus to equity in the arts. Sharon serves on the management team for the Cultural Affairs Division of AED and is also a leader on the Racial Equity Action Team. She is also the founding president of Chavurah, Arlington County’s Employee Resource Group and has recently received a certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University. Prior to her time at Arlington County Sharon planned events and galas throughout Washington, DC including the White House, Pentagon, and the Capitol. Sharon has worked with numerous Presidents, Members of Congress, Senior Military, and other dignitaries. 

Sharon and her husband, Ross, live in Oakton and have two children who attend OTRS.
