October 7: Gathering and Belonging

Throughout the month of October the Jewish community will come together, in person and online, to observe the first anniversary of October 7th. Below you will find a list of many ways you can join others to mark and gather.

And as we think about the anniversary of October 7th, we invite you to listen to Rabbi Kalender's reflections this from his first Shabbat upon his return from Israel.

Echoes of Remembrance: An Evening of Art and Storytelling, Sunday, October 27, 6:30 PM at the Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia, 8900 Little River Turnpike, Fairfax, VA 22031
October 7th, as marked on the Jewish calendar, is commemorated two days after Sukkot, on the 27th day of Tishrei, when Oct 7th happened last year. “Echoes of Remembrance” is designed to bring us closer to the events of October 7th through storytelling, music, and culinary arts. Please join us as we hear from survivors about heroic acts performed that day and about the personal toll they continue to work through. May we draw strength from their resilience.
