Reopening Updates

Current Guidelines:

  • The Shabbat service begins at 9:30am; please pre-register here. Ma'ariv meets Sunday-Thursday at 8:00pm and Shacharit meets Sunday at 9am; please pre-register here. We no longer limit attendance at Olam Tikvah. Consistent with county health guidelines to maintain contact tracing, we strongly encourage pre-registration, however, walk-ins are welcome.
  • Shabbat Youth services for Tot Shabbat (preschool and younger), Shorashim (Pre-K-1st grade), and Junior Congregation (2nd-4th grade) will meet in the youth wing beginning at 11:00am. During the first phase of our return, youth programming will consist of youth services, not childcare or playrooms. Parents of children under 18 months old must remain with their children in Tot Shabbat. Older children may be dropped off. Please pre-register here.
  • When you arrive for any service, please check in with the greeter in the lobby.
  • Masks are required (ages 2+) during services at Olam Tikvah regardless of vaccination status. Fully vaccinated service leaders, when speaking or leading prayers, will have the option to temporarily remove masks if leaders are alone and distanced from other congregants.
  • The sanctuary has sections of regular seating, as well as sections that remain distanced. Please sit wherever you feel most comfortable.
  • Following the service, we welcome those who are comfortable to kiddush lunch in the social hall with tables more distanced and, weather permitting, outside tables. Volunteers will serve food. We ask that people joining us for kiddush remain masked until seated at their tables and then mask again when they depart. Our approach is consistent with state and local guidelines.
  • In addition to in-person attendance, we welcome you to join us via livestream every Saturday.

As always, our Task Force's incremental steps are firmly rooted in prioritizing the health and well-being of our members, following state and local government guidelines, and guided by our Jewish values. If you have any questions about Olam Tikvah's reopening plan, please contact Reopening Task Force Chair Laura Strouse.
